Sigwarth Glass

This beautiful glass is the creation of Douglas and Renee Sigwarth. Their studio is near their home just east of St. Paul, MN. The process begins with clear glass that is heated to a molten state of 2100 degrees; it's then blown and shaped on a 5' hollow stainless steel blowpipe. Next layers of colored glass are applied in various forms like the one pictured above (red and blue glass). The piece is next transfered to an annealing oven where it slowly cools from a temperture of 950 degrees. See all their designs at sigwarthglass.com
